We are honored to be shortlisted for the prestigious RIBA Stirling Prize for our work on the Nordic Maritime Museum. This recognition is a testament to our team's dedication to creating spaces that resonate with their cultural and physical context.
The Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA) has announced the shortlist for the 2025 Stirling Prize, and we are thrilled to share that the Nordic Maritime Museum is among the six selected projects. The Stirling Prize is judged against a range of criteria including design vision, innovation and originality, capacity to stimulate engage and delight occupants and visitors, accessibility and sustainability, how fit the building is for its purpose and the level of client satisfaction.
Our design for the museum was driven by a desire to connect the building to the sea, both visually and metaphorically. The form of the building echoes the hull of a ship, while the materials used—weathered steel and timber—pay homage to the region's boat-building heritage.
"This project was a labor of love for our entire studio," says Lead Architect Elena Rossi. "To be recognized by the RIBA is a huge honor, and we look forward to the awards ceremony later this year."
